Estepona has kept the feel of an Andalusian town while becoming one of the most active property markets on the coast. Its old quarter of flower-lined streets sits beside a long promenade, a marina and kilometres of beach.

The lifestyle

This is a town with year-round life: a daily market, tapas bars in the squares, a marina with a Sunday market and a coastal path that already lets you walk or cycle most of the municipality by the sea. It is quieter than Marbella and feels more Spanish, which is exactly why many buyers choose it.

What you can buy

The stretch between Estepona and San Pedro, known as the New Golden Mile, concentrates most of the new development: contemporary apartments and penthouses with sea views, and villas a few streets from the beach. In town you find traditional houses and apartments within walking distance of everything, and inland, larger plots with open views.

Who it suits

Buyers who want more home for their budget than in central Marbella, families looking for a real town to live in all year, and anyone drawn to modern architecture close to the water. Golf is close by, with several courses in and around the municipality.
