San Pedro de Alcántara is a town in its own right within the municipality of Marbella, just west of Puerto Banús. It has a lived-in centre, a long beachfront promenade and some of the best-value addresses close to the Golden Mile.

The lifestyle

This is where many local families live, and it shows: a church square, a weekly market, tapas bars, schools and shops open all year. Since the main road through the town was moved underground and replaced by a long boulevard park, the centre is calmer and easy to walk, and a wide promenade follows the beach towards Puerto Banús and Guadalmina.

What you can buy

In the centre there are apartments and townhouses within walking distance of everything. Between the town and the sea, Linda Vista and Cortijo Blanco have villas a short walk from the beach, and Guadalmina Baja and Guadalmina Alta, on either side of the motorway around the golf club, are established areas of larger villas with gardens.

Who it suits

Buyers who want a real town rather than a resort, and families who need schools and services close by. It is also a good choice for those who want to be near Puerto Banús and Nueva Andalucía while paying less than on the Golden Mile.
